A Little Bit About Me

I am a simple Muslimah and although I am far from where I want to be religiously, I am working to better myself by seeking knowledge and learning Arabic. I would love to have a spouse to study, learn and grow with, so that we can be in a marriage and a home that is pleasing to Allah.

Alhamdulillah I was fortunate enough to make Hijra to Dubai. Ideally, I would like to continue living here. I was born and raised in London but I have no intention to move back to the UK. However, I am willing to move to another Islamic country with my spouse if that is what’s best Inshaa’Allah.

I wear the jilbab and I do not wear makeup or perfume when I leave the house Alhamdulillah. I want to start wearing the niqab in the near future Inshaa’Allah so if you do not see yourself with a niqabi wife then I do not think we will be compatible.

I do not mix with non mehrams, including family members. I do not listen to music. I do not partake in the celebrations of the Prophet’s (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) birthday, or anyone’s birthday for that matter. I do not partake in khatams or any other Islamic innovations. I do not mix culture with religion and I would want to marry someone who has the same views as me on these matters.

I studied medical engineering at university, and although I really enjoyed it, I didn’t find the work environment to be suitable for a Muslim woman. So then I qualified to become a Mathematics teacher and I taught in girl’s schools for 7 years, until I had my daughter. My preference would be to not work and to look after my family and our home, but if the need arises then I am able to go back to teaching Alhamdulillah.

I am divorced and I would be happy to answer questions that you may have regarding this, if needed. I have a two year old daughter and she is very sweet and calm, she takes after her mother. She lives with me and has contact with her father.

I would like to add that I am not open to being a second (or third) wife. Although I am aware that this is of course permissible, it is not something that I would be able to cope with.

What I Am Looking For
For me, religion is and always has been the number one priority when looking for a spouse and this is not something that I am willing to compromise on. I am looking for an honest, patient and loving companion who I can better myself with Inshaa’Allah.

I am looking for someone who has similar views to me when it comes to the religion. Someone who tries their best to follow the Quran and authentic sunnah and who stays away from all newly invented matters in the religion. Someone who puts the religion first in all matters, regardless of who it may upset at times. Someone who does not mix or prioritise their culture over the religion. Someone who is making an effort to study the religion and who reads the Quran regularly.

I am looking for someone that I can learn the deen with and who will help me become a better Muslim and the best version of myself Inshaa’Allah. Someone who will provide a loving Islamic home for me and my daughter. I am trying to have a healthier lifestyle in terms of exercising and a healthy diet, so someone who can encourage and join me in this would be a bonus.

I am open to divorcees, with or without children from the previous marriage, but I am not open to a polygynous marriage.
